About Ollie Golightly

Ollie Golightly is a Toronto company dedicated to creating thoughtfully designed products for parents and their kids. The company was founded in 2007 by Geneviève and Chris Metropolis. As new parents, they spent a lot of time researching various baby gear, and often found the choices available lacking in design appeal. They saw a fantastic opportunity to provide some fresh options for hip parents, and Ollie Golightly was born. Geneviève, a communication designer, brought her love of fine textiles, her graphic sensibility, and her eye for detail to the design of their first product, the Ollie Golightly sling. Chris is the brains behind this fabulous website.

The Name Ollie Golightly is a reference to Geneviève and Chris' son Oliver, who of course "goes lightly" in his sling. It is also a nod to Audrey Hepburns' Holly Golightly character from Breakfast at Tiffany's, who would most certainly have worn an Ollie Golightly sling, had she needed one.

Company Philosophy

Ollie Golightly is part of a new generation of manufacturers, committed to supporting the Canadian economy and natural resource sustainability.
Our Earth Collection textiles are not only certified fair-trade organic, they are dyed using only plants and minerals. Our T-shirts and Onesies are made from Canadian milled organic textiles. Whether it’s practicing water conservation in the screen printing studio, or sourcing 100% recycled paper when printing marketing materials, Ollie Golightly is a conscientious environmental steward.

Made in Ontario

Our screen printing studio, our expert sewers, and our warehousing and distribution facility are all located in Toronto,  allowing us to use the least amount of natural resources possible during the creation and distribution of our products. Local production also allows us to directly oversee quality standards and choice of materials and ensures the best possible labour standards.
